I took the above quote from a wonderful little movie we saw recently, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I recommend the movie and hope you post me your thoughts.
I begin this trip with more than the usual pre-travel anxiety. I think I might have made a mistake in starting my trip in such a high altitude city, Cuzco. I did get a prescription for altitude sickness to take before hand and the day I arrive. I am hoping that does it along with taking it easy the first few days.
I am excited about visiting the great Inca civilization. I read a wonderful book, The Last Days of the Incas to get into the mindset. I am ready to go. I do not like to over plan, over think a trip. I prefer to have a general idea but work out the day-today- details when I arrive at my destination. Last year it was the Mayans. One day, I will get to the Aztecs in Mexico. I will begin in Cuzco and hopefully cover Columbia, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.. We will see how it all pans out.
