I started my day normal enough going to Starbucks for double espresso. I drank my coffee in the main piazza then walked over to the Cathedral. A mass was going on at the time. It is always interesting to spend time in a house of worship in any denomination. You get a feel for the real people of the community.
Afterwards, I took a two hour bus tour of Cusco. I sat up time as it was a perfect day, perfect for me anyway, which meant it was cool. I took some interesting photos of the detail stone work and a nice high over the valley looking into the city shot.
I came home feeling like i was coming down with the flu. My body ache, i felt I had fever and it was hard breathing. I talked to the front desk person and they brought some oxygen to the room. All hotels in Cusco keep oxygen tanks for their guests.
After about ten minutes of oxygen I felt better enough to get a few hours sleep.
I got up and dressed about 7 pm and headed to Paddy's to grab a bite to eat to take back to the room. A woman Laura notice from me wanting to take the food at that I was not feeling well directed me to a pharmacy to get altitude sickness pills. Between the pills, oxygen and dropping half a Percocet I was feeling better.
I decided the next day just to hang in Cusco taking it easy. Thank god for my IPad, blogging and Netflix.
